New Year

Well, I have to admit, this year kinda flew by. A lot of things happened: New baby sister, new president, going to the Teen Bible Quiz Nationals in Green Bay WI, gas prices rise and drop, I create my own blog, etc, etc. To celebrate this new year, I am going to stay up till 12:00 am to wait for the new year. I will be playing my Wii, watching movies, and other fun things. I will post tomorrow and tell everyone how the night went. See y'all.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas, everyone! Praise God for letting his Son come and save us. His life, ministry, death, and resurrection are more important than all the gifts in the world. This year, I received a radio with speakers and a remote! How cool is that! I am thankful for my parents and grandparents for thinking of me and buying me and my siblings gifts. Just a little reminder, band brawls is almost done. At the end of the year, I will put the songs you voted for on my playlists. If you have not voted, make sure you do and feel free to make other suggestions.

Teen Bible Quiz

Sorry, I have not posted for a while. I have been very busy this holiday season. Anyway, I wanted to talk with you guys about a ministry I am involved with: Teen Bible Quiz (TBQ). TBQ is a ministry were kids ranging from grades 6th-12th memorize books of the Bible and quiz on it. It is almost like Jeopardy except you are on a team and the study material is from the Bible For instance, last year, my first year, we memorized Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colosians and Philemon. This year, we are memorizing the gospel of Mark. In a match against another team, there are 20 questions asked three 30 point questions, ten 20 point questions, and 9 10 point question. To give you an idea about how complex the questions are let me give you an example. Ten point question, Mark 9:28 names which individuals? Answer: Peter and Jesus. 20 point question, Where did John the Baptist baptise and what did he preach? Answer: And so John came, baptizing in the desert region and preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins (NIV). The hardest, the 30 pointers will go something like this: Quote verses thirty-two and thirty-three from the eighth chapter? Isn't this a mouthful: He spoke plainly about this, and Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. But when Jesus turned and looked at his disciples, he rebuked Peter. Get behind me, Satan! he said. You do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men. Yeah, rough. Anyway, I hope this video helps you understand the game more. Christmas is almost here!

Christmas is almost here! I can hardly believe it! It seems like 2008 rushed right pass me and I'm ready to greet 2009. Wow. Well, I found a Christmas video on Godtube starring my favorite comedian, Tim Hawkins! The Christmas one was short, so I put another another one with the first. Make sure you scroll down and turn off my music first before viewing.

Sonic Unleashed

I have finally rented the new Sega game starring everyone's favorite hedgehog, Sonic. For those of you who are not familiar with Sonic, the past two years have been busts. Sega has created Sonic games ranging from average to horrible. In doing so, Mario has unfortunately become more popular than our speedy friend. However, Sega has revived him and has created an excellent game to play in Sonic Unleashed. In this game, the blue blur was racing to Dr. Eggman's (the villain in the Sonic series) lair. As he was chasing him, Dr. Eggman led Sonic into a trap where he was transformed into a Werehog . Dr. Eggman form outer space then shot the earth with his mega gun to release a weird creature so he can conquer the world and broke the planet into seven pieces. Then, he throws Sonic who is still in his werehog form back to earth. Sonic lands and falls and a small animal who is very frightened at first but realizes that Sonic is his friend. The animal has amnesia so Sonic tries to help him find his real identity. Fortunately, Sonic finds out he only turns into his werehog form at night and is his regular self during the day. So, it is up to him to save the world and put it back together.

I played this game and found it very enjoyable. The day stages have Sonic speed through these levels and the night stages have you fighting with different bad guys. As a werehog, Sonic is stronger and has agility. As Sonic, he is as fast as ever. I would not recommend any of the previous Sonic games. However, if you are looking for some good, clean video game entertainment, Sonic Unleashed is for you. Good job, Sega and Sonic Team! Finally, you have given us a game that we will enjoy. I will look forward to the next Sonic game, Sonic and the Black Knight.

Hi again, blog world! Unfortunately, I have become sick during these cold holiday months. Since I am off of school for at least today, I have decided to share with you something God has put on my heart to tell you since I have started blogging. So, please allow me to tell you this amazing story that happened near me in the Tampa Bay area.

Carnell or 'Cadillac' Williams a running back from Auburn University was a first round draft pick (fourth overall) in 2005 for the NFL team, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (my favorite football team). This guy, at first, had everything go well for him. He signed a contract worth $31,000,000. In his first three games, he broke an all-time record for most yards ran for a rookie (434 yd.). The NFL Hall of Fame took his gloves and shoes for week 3 and retired them. He finished the year with 1,178 yd. and averaged over 100 yd a game. He had three player of the week honors and was also named the Offensive Rookie of the Year. Two years later, in a game against the Carolina Panthers, Williams tore his patella tendon in one of his knee. Doctors told Williams he would never, ever play football again. Almost like a vapor, his promising career was done. Over. Gone forever. However, he went through rehab, came to football camp, and just three Sundays ago, in the middle of the NFL season, he came and played his first game after 14 months.

Now, let me bring this home from two different points of view. First, the media's. Now, we have seen a lot of very popular individuals disappear from the spotlight and the favor of the media because of a run-in with the law. Names like the king of pop Michael Jackson, famous singer Britney Spears, and elusive quarterback Michael Vick come to mind. In all these situations, the media was supporting them until there downfall. Then the media mocked, condemned, and criticized these people. As Christians, sometimes we are the first to throw them under the bus, especially if they were known to be mean-spirited, mock Christianity, or have sensual lyrics in their songs. I also have frequently thought of their fall as a punishment from God for their vulgar sins.

It was no different with Carnell Williams. The reporters were his buddies until the injury. After the injury, media repeatedly said that he was not going to come back, if he did he would not be as effective, or that he was ' injury-prone.' Well, as Christians, our attitude shouldn't be like the media's. Whether famous or not, these victims need support! Think about how many people would not have committed suicide if they had public Christian support. Think of all the people of this world that have dug themselves a deeper spiritual hole and ran farther away from Christ once caught doing something illegal.

Now, let us look at Carnell's side of the story. He was bombed with all these doubts. Bombarded with all the talk about him never playing again. In spite of all this, he made a comeback. For the love of the game, he made it. His coach, Jon Gruden, supported him and encouraged him through rehab. Iron does sharpen iron. One thing you should know about Coach Gruden, he is by no means Christian. So, if Coach Gruden, whose lips are always ready to form a foul 4 letter word, can motivate Williams from a possible career-threatening physical injury, can't we motivate our fellow humans and help them escape an eternity-threatening spiritual injury?

My pastor last Sunday made this intriguing statement: When we fall physically, our first reaction is to get up. When we fall spiritually, our impulse is to stay down.So there we go! Our first thought when we fall-short spiritually is to wade in self-pity. Think about how much harder it would be to get up physically when people are constantly stepping on your hand, punching your legs, or kicking your rear end.

When we point fingers at others, we are doing exactly that. Instead of slapping them in the back, why don't we give them our hand and help them up. If they don't accept your hand, that is on them. You gave it your best shot. Whether it is your Britney Spears , your next-door neighbor who's parent just got a divorce, or the girl sitting next to you at school who is no longer virgin, we need to give them our hand and help them up.

The topic, Jesus' crucifixion, death, and resurrection. Without what our dear savior did for us, we wouldn't have a chance to be called God's children. It is the basis of our faith. Hi, everyone. I have BIG NEWS!! I have blogged for a little more than three weeks, but according to my sitemeter, already had over 100 visits! I thank all of you for your support. However since it is Christmas, I was going to put up new Christmas songs for my blog. However, I can't find many I like. So please..... Help me out.
